Vincent Series C Black Shadow
Vincent Series C Black Shadow
1953 Vincent Series C Black Shadow in touring trim (registration tag no. NGN 105). This Black Shadow was sent from Glasgow, Scotland by Daniel Kane of Cambuslang, Scotland to his brother James Kane, who resided in Huntington, New York on March 25, 1969. It was purchased from James Kane by the present owner on July 21, 1969. It was test ridden at the time of purchase, was in good running condition when stored, and has remained in continuous indoor storage since that time. No changes, service, or additions have been made.
This Black Shadow retains the battery and tires as existed at the time of purchase. A competition wind screen and black leather fuel tank cover with gold Vincent logo came with the Black Shadow as accessories when purchased in 1969. The tool kit is present on this Black Shadow. The chain of title on the original document shows the motorcycle was purchased from the manufacturer by the dealer, Conway Motors Ltd., on October 10, 1952, and that the last owner in the U.K. was Daniel Kane, who shipped it to the U.S. Copies of authenticity documents (to include 1952 Works Order Form, Check Sheet, and Road Test Report) have been obtained from the VOC. Originals are available. Included with this Vincent are the ‘Vincent Rider’s Handbook for the Series “B” and “C” 998cc Black Lightning, Black Shadow and Standard Rapide’ (63 Pages), and The Vincent Spare Parts List (plus exploded views – total 111 pages).
